episode 36: last resort Serena, Sammy, and their parents are driving on a vacation. "I thought hot springs were for space cases, Mom!" Serena whines. "No, they're wonderful," she says. Sammy plays on the equivelent of a Game Boy, and Serena tries to snatch it. BUt her locket falls out, and she grabs it. "Did you get that from a BOY, serena?" her dad asks jokingly. "Well, you could say that..." "WHAT!!!!!!" He starts driving superfast and out of control. They all scream. "Dear, it's probably from Melvin!" her mom shouts. He slows down. "Oh, him? THAT's a boy for you, Serena!" "Yeah, as if..." They get there, and look out on the gorgeous blue lake. "Wow, this is great!" says Serena. But suddenly, her locket opens and begins to play. "Why is it playing?" she wonders. She thinks of Darien and tears up. "Are you OK honey?" asks her mom. "Yeah, I'm fine, let's go!" As they walk off, something in the lake burbles... "I feel a strong power in the lake, similar to ours, but different in a way," Malachite tells Beryl. She says, "Good. Darien, investigate this." He goes. "Queen, Darien's ot been acting like himself lately. Do you think he has regained all his memories?" Beryl tells him to survey Darien... Serena, Mom and Dad are in one of the hot springs (wearing towels) , but Sammy won't come in! "The water smells funny." Serena sneaks behind him and pushes him in! He subsequently takes her towel! He runs off with it, and she finally grabs it from him (no, we never see her naked or anything). "that's weird," he says to her, "there's a guy down there in a suit." "Where?" She finally sees him, and realizes who it is - "DARIEN!" She runs down to where he is, leaving her family wondering... "Darien, is that you?" she says, seeing a figure in the distance. "Oh, it's just a statue," she says, seeing a statue of a couple. Her mom comes up to her. "Those are the guardians of the lake. Legend has it that the man fell in love with a beautiful water sprite. But another sprite fell in love with him as well! She got so jealous that she turned into a jealous monster! The couple used their love to seal the monster into the lake. Using up their energy, the couple floated off into the sky..." Her mom leaves, Serena saying that she'll catch up. Suddenly, her locket opens! "Why would it play?" She hears a branch crack behind her, and turns around. She sees - "Darien!" He says, "That music from the locket sounds familiar..." "Don't you remember, Darien, it's me Serena!" He says, puzzled, "Darien? Serena? I never heard these names before." (This is a DiC goof. Originally, he was Prince Endymion, but DiC made him Prince Darien. See the mixup?) Her mom calls to her, and he disappears...she walks over to her, and Serena stops the locket. "Serena, are you ok?" "Sure, I am." She hugs her mom real tight, and they begin to walk back to the inn. "Honey, when you get a boyfriend, bring him home, OK? dad would like that." She blushes and says, "Ok, sure...someday." She thinks, "When he comes back."... "Darien, you do it now," Malachite orders. "Fine. Monster of the Lake! I command you, awaken! Awaken, and I am your master! You will obey ME!" And suddenly, from a lime-green light comes a green, female monster, with a long serpent tail and fangs. "You think I'm gonna listen to you!!!!" He is shocked. "Where is that blasted water SPRITE!" The monster sees Serena in the distance, with her family. "It's her!" she flies off to get Serena! "WAIT!" shouts Darien... In the woods, the monster hurdles towards the family! "DUCK!" shouts Serena, and they all do. She strikes again, and her dad pushes them down. Serena gets up. "How dare you terrorize my family! Get away form us! Moon...Prism...." "I'llget yoU!" shouts her dad, before she can finish. But he is knocked down by the monster, when suddenly.... A black rose stops her! And they see - "Whose that guy in the cape?" wonders Sammy. They look at the arrving Tuxedo Mask, and Serena says, "He msut be here to help us..." they start to walk off when Mask is hit! "I wish I could help him..." when suddenly, the Scouts arrive! "Wow, this is great!" shouts Sammy. "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" The bubbles cover the scene. As the famliy runs for saftey in the fog's cover, Serena diverts from them, and shouts, "Moon Prism POWER!" Sailor Moon is back!... She makes her speech to the monster. "Venus Crescent Beam SMASH!" "Jupiter Thunder CRASH!" The powers turn the monster into dust! But she reforms again. "What?" Venus and Jupiter wonder. Moon says, "I got you covered! Moon Tiara MAGIC!" The tiara destorys the monster! Or does it... since she reforms once again, and is now really mad! Mars says, "This monster...I sense she isn't from the NEgaverse!" Mask says, "I know, I set her free. I'll take care of this." Mars snaps, "No way! Evil is my specialty!...I call upon the power of Mars, Fireballs, CHARGE!" The scroll freezes the mosnter in place. "Mars Fire IGNITE!" Fire surrounds her, and she is stuck. Moon takes out the wand. "Moon Healing ACTIVATION!".... In a surge of yellow light, a beautiful woman, with black hair and a big green kimono, flies. She looks at them and says, "Thank you, I am free again!" She sees Tuxedo Mask. "And you, thank you all so much!" She flies to the heavens, finally freed of her jealousy... "Tuxedo Mask, you saved us before. Does this mean you are on your side? Please?" asks Sailor Moon. "No, we'll settle the matter of the Crystal another day!" He leaves. "I don't get it!" Malahcite says, watching, "Neither do I!"... Serena catches up with her family (happy reunion!), and her and her friends eventually go into the hot springs and enjoy a nice Serena dunking!... so the day was saved, but Darien doesn't even remember Serena! The song music was familiar though. Does thiss mean he has a bit of memory still left? What can Serena do to help him?...
