![]() changes to dubbed r(eturn) Well, we all know how much DiC likes to mess with a great story...here are a few of the changes they made to the original plot of sailor moon r(eturn). - more name changes! The Four Sisters, Catzy, Birdie, Avery, and Prizma were originally called the Ayakashi Sisters, Cooan, Beruche, Karaberas, and Petz. Alan and Ann Granger (the aliens) originally had human names and alien names, but DiC didn't do that. The Doom Phantom was originally called the Death Phantom. - name mayhem! Rini's "Luna Ball" is actually known as "Luna-P". In the beginning of the dub, it's "Luna Ball", then "Luna Sphere", then "Luna-P". Rini is known as "Rini", then "small lady". The voice that speaks to her through Luna-P at first sounds like Luna, but later on it sounds like Sailor Pluto. And once, Mercury calls out to Pluto, "Goodbye, Sailor P!". Oh my. - episode 67 was cut. This was a fun, nonoffensive episode dealing with an island vacation. Why it was cut is beyond me. - more music changes. The classic SM song "La Soldier" was replaced with "Power of Love" in episode 81. Ami's image song "Onaji Namida wo Wakeatte" was replaced by "Only a Memory Away" in the episode "Sailor Mercury Moving on?" BGM was changed too. - Many scenes were cut. In "Rubius Strikes Out", in the beginning of the episode, the girls are supposed to be hanging on black crystal crosses, either knocked out or dead. This was cut for obvious reasons... - Oh, the worst name change of all. Black Lady, as she was known around the world, was changed to "Wicked Lady" in the U.S. and Canada because of "racial implications". Kill me now. That's all I can think of. There's a complete list at Castle in the Sky Sailor Moon, check it out. Some of the changes are so ridiculous they're hysterical! ![]()
